Workshop
Terms & Conditions

Hello, I'm Colleen Herbert, and I'm thrilled to share my art skills with you. Currently, I'm residing in the beautiful South Gippsland region, but my future holds travel across this beautiful country. Whether you'd like to follow my journey on social media or contact me for a workshop, painting, or mural, don't hesitate to reach out.

And keep a positive attitude – it is ok to make a mistake – let me work with you to fix things cause Rules are meant to be broken in my art world.

Private Bookings

Get your team together call me or message me and if we can organise a time and a venue for sure we can make it happen.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

I reserve the right to make changes to any class, or schedule. In such circumstances, I will make every effort to provide a substitute of equal standing. If a course or workshop is cancelled, I will contact any enrolled student and arrange for an alternative class, credit, or refund. Please note that any out-of-pocket expenses already committed to, such as pre-arranged travel costs, unfortunately cannot be reimbursed.

Full payment must be made upon enrolment. I cannot accept responsibility for changes to your personal circumstances that prevent attendance. Classes missed are your responsibility and are non-refundable. You are not entitled to a discount or a 'make-up' class if you miss a class for any course or workshop you are enrolled in.

Cancellation of Enrolment

  • If you choose to withdraw or change your enrolment to another course or workshop more than 30 days before its commencement, you will be credited 100% of the course fee less a $50 administrative fee.

  • If you choose to withdraw from a course or workshop within 30 days of its commencement, you will forfeit 50% of the class fee (to cover the cost of venue, dining and accommodation bookings, materials etc).

  • If you choose to withdraw from a course or workshop within 14 days of its commencement, you will forfeit 100% of the class fee.

There are no transfers, refunds, or make-up sessions if you miss a class due to personal circumstances changing.

I am not responsible for the loss of money paid for accommodation and/or flights in the event a workshop is cancelled, nor am I responsible for the disruption or cancellation of flights by an airline causing a participant to miss the workshop.

It is recommended that participants take out travel insurance in the event of having to cancel a booking due to unforeseen circumstances. The insurance policy should include coverage against travel/accommodation costs, personal accident, medical expenses, emergency repatriation, and personal liability.

Payment of Fees

Workshop fees are listed with the course details on my website. Payment of the full class fee via bank transfer is required at the time of enrolment to secure your place. Bank transfer is the preferred method of payment as it reduces fees payable by both parties.

If you do not wish to enrol via the web, you can enrol over the phone.

Fees are inclusive of GST, and tax receipts will be provided upon receipt of payment (upon request).

Art Materials

Materials lists for classes are included in the class information on the website. Students are required to supply their own art materials unless otherwise specified in the course or workshop description.

Course Recognition

I am not a Registered Training Organization, and as such, my courses are not accredited. I have been a secondary high school teacher for nearly 30 years and strive to deliver excellence, creativity and success in my workspace.

A Record of Attendance can be provided by request upon completion of a course or workshop.

Marketing

From time to time, I take photos or videos during class of students and artworks. These photos are used for promotional purposes such as press advertising, brochures, social media, editorials, and the website.

These photos will never be sold and will be used exclusively by and for Colleen Herbert Art. Your consent is implied as a Condition of Enrolment. If you do not wish for me to take and use photos of you, your child, or your artwork, please notify me in writing.

All students signing up for my classes or workshops will be subscribed to my occasional newsletter, which you can unsubscribe from at any time.

Workshop Conduct

I expect you to respect my knowledge and skill, artwork, and property in my shared space and, if not, I will ask you to leave.

Students are responsible for keeping their working area clean and tidy, and all tools should be cleaned and returned to their respective areas by the end of class.

Students must wear or bring appropriate attire suitable for painting classes.

Please ensure all artwork is named. You also need to make sure you take your own work at the end of the workshop, as artwork will not be kept.

Punctuality

Out of respect try to be on time and rock up about 15 minutes early – we can chat. If you plan to arrive after the course or workshop has commenced, message me to let me know, but the class will start.

Privacy

Contact information you supply to Colleen Herbert Art will not be disclosed. I assure you that I do not share your details with anyone unless required by law.

Unforeseen Circumstances

Sometimes, due to unforeseen circumstances, a class may be cancelled unexpectedly. Students are advised to check their telephone messages before coming to class, and any cancelled class by Colleen Herbert Art will either be rescheduled or refunded if we can’t reschedule.

Booking Confirmations

When you make a booking online, you’ll receive an email within 24 hours confirming the details of booking. Please contact me if this does not occur.

Work Health and Safety Policy

Colleen Herbert Art is committed to the active promotion of Work Health and Safety for all. You are responsible for their own health, safety, and welfare, and students are asked to be mindful of other students regarding their health and safety within the studio environment (ie. if you have skin issues, bring gloves for yourself).
